Gyokuro in Japanese means “jewel dew” referring to the pale green color when brewed.  It is made from a special cultivar of the Camellia Sinensis tea plant. The tea plant is shade grown, slowing the plants growth and giving it more flavor and a higher content of chlorophyll and rich in amino acids like L-theanine. Brews up to a light, buttery seaweed taste with a very clean finish. Keep your water temps down and enjoy the multiple infusions. Served in fine Japanese, Sushi style restaurants. Pairs best with fish and rice dishes and light desserts.
